Russian tank support combat vehicles (BMPT) "Terminator" were used during a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine. Telegram channel Dambiev published photos showing the use of machines during the battle, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
It is noted that these are the first photos of the BMPT, taken not on the march, but during the battle. The vehicles in the pictures provide cover for tanks in the area of Severodonetsk.
"Terminator" is designed for actions as part of tank formations. The purpose of the BMPT is anti-tank weapons, armored vehicles and enemy fortifications. In 2018, the car was adopted by the Russian army.
The BMPT is based on the chassis of the T-90A tank. The vehicle received two 2A42 cannons, a twin machine gun, two grenade launchers and a guided weapons system with four supersonic missiles.
Earlier, the war correspondent Alexander Kotz published a video showing the BMPT on the territory of Donbass.
In December 2021, the commander of the Central Military District (CVO), Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, announced that the first full-time company with BMPT appeared in the district.
