MOSCOW, May 27. /tass/. The Security Service of Ukraine recorded the probability that the United States is using cooperation with Ukrainian laboratories to develop biological weapons. This is stated in the report of the SBU, presented on Friday as part of the regular briefing of the Russian Defense Ministry on the documents discovered by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on biological laboratories in Ukraine.
"The actions of the American side are regarded as domestic (Ukrainian - approx. TASS) by experts as the formation of their own database regarding the strains of pathogens that are stored at Ukrainian facilities, <...> and the study by US military doctors of the effectiveness of the use of pathogens of particularly dangerous infections in specific regions of Ukraine for the creation or modernization of new types of selective biological weapons (against a certain race, genotype, territory of birth or residence)," the SBU said in a report on US military and political activity in Ukraine, written in 2017.
As Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological Protection troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, noted at the briefing, the SBU also pointed out the prerequisites for the emergence of biological threats due to systematic violations and poor quality of work during the reconstruction of biological laboratories.
