Zhu Hai Yun Vessel
Last week, China commissioned the world's first 88-meter semi-autonomous Zhu Hai Yun drone ship, capable of transporting and launching unmanned vehicles of various classes, and then controlling their actions.
The vessel was built by Huangpu Wenchong almost a year ago. According to the South China Morning Post, we are talking about the world's first autonomous platform designed to perform operations using not only UAVs, but also underwater and surface autonomous drones.
Zhu Hai Yun Vessel
Unlike the fully autonomous Japanese container ship Suzaku, the Chinese unmanned vessel is controlled remotely before entering the open sea, after which it is transferred to autonomous mode. According to the shipbuilding company, the autonomous vessel has everything necessary to deploy drones of various classes and ensure interaction between them when performing specific missions. Upon their completion, the UAVs return and land on the deck, and boats and UAV submarines are boarded using lifting devices. Initially, Zhu Hai Yun was created to explore the ocean depths, however, it is quite obvious that it can also be adopted by the Chinese Navy.
