The Czech Republic supplied the Ukrainian military with self-propelled artillery units (ACS) vz.77 Dana 152 mm caliber. In the publication of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the installations were called obsolete.
Ukrainian gunners received the initial modification of the ACS, which was developed in the 1970s. Currently, these installations can be considered obsolete, the publication notes.
Thanks to the automatic loading system, the maximum rate of fire of the vz.77 is four rounds per minute. The howitzer can hit a target at a distance of up to 20 kilometers. The ACS is based on the chassis of the Tatra T815 car with an 8x8 wheel formula.
The vz.77 Dana self-propelled gun was developed in 1976 in Czechoslovakia, and in 1981 a self-propelled howitzer was adopted. Up to 1994, 750 artillery units were manufactured.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry showed the work of the crews of the ACS 2S19 "Msta-S" during a special military operation in Ukraine.
In March, the publication 19FortyFive assessed the capabilities of Russian adjustable ammunition "Krasnopol".
In February, the gunners of the Western Military District (ZVO) received upgraded self-propelled howitzers "Msta-SM2".
