The main MRC of the Karakurt Project 22800 series of ships, being built at the Amur Shipyard for the Pacific Fleet, received the main engine of the aft compartment. Before that, two diesel generators were installed on the ship. This is reported by the press service of the enterprise.

Four MRCS of project 22800 "Karakurt" for the Pacific Fleet have been laid and are being built at the Amur GCC. In total, the Pacific Fleet should receive six ships of this project. Earlier it was reported that the contract concluded in 2018 provides for the construction of four MRCS at the Amur GCC and two more at the Vostochnaya Shipyard in Vladivostok, however, the laying of the MRC at the Vostochnaya Shipyard did not happen. What is the reason for this is still unknown.

All ships of the series have already been laid down at the Amur SSZ: the head MRK Rzhev - on July 1, 2019, together with it, the first serial MRK Udomlya was laid down on the same day, the second serial Ussuriysk - on December 26, 2019 and the third serial Pavlovsk - on July 29, 2020. All work on the ships is on schedule, without disruption, but the big problem is the engines for the MRC.

The thing is that M507D diesel engines produced by the St. Petersburg PJSC Zvezda are installed at the MRK Karakurt, which are extremely in demand in the shipbuilding industry, their delivery is scheduled for years ahead. In this regard, there are delays in the delivery of ships to the fleet. The Karakurt power plant includes three M507D-1 engines and three diesel generators DGAS-315.

Small rocket ships of project 22800 are a Russian series of multi-purpose rocket and artillery ships of the near sea zone (small corvettes). The main purpose of the MRK is to conduct combat operations in the near sea zone and perform tasks independently and as part of ship groups.

The MRCS of this project have a length of 67 meters, a width of 11 meters and a draft of 4 meters. Displacement - about 800 tons, cruising range - up to 2500 miles, autonomy - 15 days. The main armament - one PU UKSK (universal ship complex) 3S14 RK "Caliber", one 76-mm artillery AK-176MA, ZRAK "Pantsir-M", two 14.5-mm or 12.7-mm machine gun MTPU.
