A Ukrainian drone with valuable information was intercepted by the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) near Kharkiv. Denis Kulaga, a correspondent of the Izvestia TV channel, reported this on May 17.
He said that the drone was carrying a flash drive containing information about the location of the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Izyum direction.
"The work in the Izyum direction is complicated by the fact that any piece of land that gets into the frame is easily identified by the Ukrainian side. However, our servicemen have already taken this direction into squares in detail in the Kharkiv region," the correspondent of Izvestia noted.
A serviceman of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation told a journalist that Russian troops often have to deal with Ukrainian drones.
"When there is an artillery attack on our units, you can always hear that an enemy drone is flying in the air. Seeing and hearing a drone, you always know that there will be an artillery offensive soon," the military said.
So, on the video, which was shot by a Ukrainian drone, the transfer of equipment to firing positions was recorded, as well as the wrecked cars of the nationalists. The video also showed a Russian artillery strike on the Ukrainian borders.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told about the combat work of the calculations of multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Orlan-10" of the Western Military District, performing tasks during the Russian special operation in the Donbass.
Orlan-10 UAVs carry out reconnaissance flights for further coordination and coordination of actions of various types of military equipment, including in the conditions of interference of enemy electronic warfare. Drones constantly record and broadcast to control points the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and radical nationalist groups.
And on May 12, Izvestia correspondent Rodion Severyanov reported that a crashed American drone was found at the site of the fighting in Donbass.
On February 24, Russia announced the start of a special operation to protect Donbass. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified, the special operation pursues two goals — demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
The operation began against the background of the situation in Donbass that escalated in mid-February. The authorities of the DPR and LPR reported increased shelling by Ukrainian troops, announced the evacuation of civilians to the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
