At Uralvagonzavod (as part of the UVZ Concern, part of Rostec State Corporation), a solemn dispatch of a train of T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation took place. This was reported by the press service of the UVZ.
The event was attended by the heads and employees of the enterprise, as well as the rector of the church in the name of the Holy Great Prince Dimitri Donskoy, Archpriest John Bragin. The head of the mechanical assembly production of Uralvagonzavod, Vladimir Stoyanov, noted in his opening speech that special attention is paid to the Nizhny Tagil enterprise today:
- Foreign media once again spread the fake that Uralvagonzavod has been stopped. This means that we are not just known, but also feared! So - we are working well! On behalf of the mechanical assemblers, I assure you that we will not let you down in the future! We will continue to work for the benefit of the Russian military-industrial complex.
At the final stage of the preparation of combat vehicles, drawings and letters of children of tank builders and Orthodox icons were embedded in them. - These warm and sincere children's messages, as well as icons with the patron saint of all military Dmitry Donskoy, we have invested in our T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks, which are being sent to the Russian Army today. These are symbols of our support for Russian soldiers, a sign of respect and faith in their courage, - said the leader of the youth organization Ivan Kukartsev. He also handed over some of the drawings to the military from the guard accompanying the T-90M tank column.
Archpriest John Bragin did not agree with Leo Tolstoy's words that it is not necessary to resist evil by force.
- What would have happened if Prince Dmitry Donskoy had tried to persuade: "Khan Mamai, do not ruin Russia." I think he would not have succeeded in much: there would have been burned villages, people killed. Therefore, as a real Russian Orthodox prince, he armed himself and called the soldiers to the battlefield. Good should always be able to protect itself. It is useless to persuade the evil forces to stop. And that is why there is such a tradition to consecrate weapons. So that the help, blessing, protection of God would help him to defend his Fatherland, to protect people who require help and protection, - said the rector of the factory church.
Archpriest John Bragin consecrated the armored vehicles, after which the echelon of T-90M tanks "Breakthrough" under the march "Farewell of the Slavs" set off.
Uralvagonzavod, within the framework of the state defense order, supplies both new and upgraded to the level of T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks to the troops. The preparation and development of serial production of these modern armored vehicles at the enterprise has been fully completed, positive results of qualification tests have been obtained.
The T-90M tank was developed by the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering. It is the most advanced machine in the T-90 family and the most adapted to action in the conditions of modern combat, including due to the presence of all-course protection, a modern all-day highly automated fire control system and the implementation of measures to increase survivability. The modernization of the "nineties" turned out to be so multilevel that the T-90M "Breakthrough" can rightfully be considered a new combat vehicle. The turret has been completely replaced, the power and transmission systems, the chassis have been upgraded, and the level of armor resistance has been increased.
In terms of combat effectiveness, the T-90M tank is significantly superior to its predecessor, the T-90, but at the same time retains its advantages, such as exceptional reliability and minimal maintenance during operation.
