Moscow. 9th May. INTERFAX - Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that Russian high-precision complexes have proven their effectiveness in the course of actions in Ukraine.
"All types of Russian precision weapons have confirmed their combat characteristics, which made it possible to hit military infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine with high accuracy, and thereby minimize civilian casualties," Borisov said in an interview with Interfax.
He said that the Russian Federation widely uses various means of destruction during strikes on objects on the territory of Ukraine: air-to-ground guided missiles, long-range air- and sea-based cruise missiles and hypersonic missiles of the Dagger aviation complex, the Iskander-M operational and tactical missile system is actively used.
"Currently, active work is underway on the further development of this type of weapon. The main focus is on increasing the efficiency, range and accuracy of its use, as well as the creation of new hypersonic weapons," Borisov said.
He also confirmed that the Bastion coastal missile system can now work on ground targets.
"Modernization made it possible to use Onyx missiles for strikes on important stationary enemy targets on land. The effectiveness of guaranteed destruction of diverse targets was confirmed during a special military operation. We can talk about the universality of the Bastion complex," Borisov said.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR).
On February 24, Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
In response, many countries have imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia. A number of countries supply Ukraine with weapons and equipment.
On March 25, the chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Sergei Rudskoy, announced that the Russian army had taken control of 93% of the territory of the LPR and more than half of the territory of the DPR.
On April 25, the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mizintsev, said that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had taken control of the entire Kherson region, parts of the Kharkiv, Zaporozhye, Mykolaiv regions of Ukraine, a significant part of the territory of the DPR and LPR.
The Bastion anti-ship missile system (NPO Mashinostroeniya, part of KTRV) is equipped with an Onyx supersonic homing anti-ship missile with a flight range of up to 500 km.
The Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) was developed at the Kolomna Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering (High-Precision Complexes Holding, Rostec). In the variant for the Russian army, the complex includes two types of missiles: ballistic and cruise. The flight range of the Iskander-M missiles was officially called - up to 500 km.
"Dagger" is an aviation complex with a high-precision hypersonic aeroballistic missile. It was created on the basis of the upgraded long-range fighter-interceptor MiG-31 - MiG-31K. According to the Russian military, it is capable of hitting targets at a range of more than 2,000 km, while it is guaranteed to overcome all existing and developed air and missile defense systems.
