LiteWave
British defense concern BAE Systems has introduced a compact HUD display LiteWave, which can be installed in the cockpit of almost any civilian or military aircraft. Modest dimensions (70% smaller than a conventional HUD helmet) allow it to be installed even in very small cabins. LiteWave is also easier to maintain and will cost customers much cheaper.
The laptop—sized device weighs only about 7 kg and is equipped with a display with a resolution of 1,365 x 1024 pixels with a viewing sector of 30 x 20 degrees, which displays a large amount of information - including bearing, altitude and speed, regardless of weather conditions. LiteWave is produced at one of the oldest BAE Systems enterprises in Rochester (UK), where more than 15 thousand HUD helmets were previously produced for pilots in 50 countries flying Eurofighter Typhoon, F-16, F-22 and other combat aircraft.
