TSAMTO, May 5. As part of the diversification of production and an increase in the share of civilian products, JSC Obukhov Plant, part of the Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, is starting to manufacture industrial additive equipment.
The company starts production of a "Sand 3D printer" and an atomizer - developments consisting entirely of domestic components.
The Sand 3D Printer will work on Russian raw materials and domestic software, which will eventually completely abandon foreign analogues.
The high-performance universal 3D machine is designed to create sand molds and rods for complex castings. The Obukhov plant has already received the first order for the supply and commissioning of the "Sand 3D Printer", the product will be delivered to the customer at the end of 2022.
The atomizer is designed for the manufacture of powders from various metals and alloys. The resulting powders are also suitable for use on imported equipment, while they can completely replace the supply of imported analogues. The product was created with the support of the Industrial Development Fund as part of the modernization of the foundry.
The Obukhov plant is simultaneously preparing for the production of two types of domestic atomizers: the first type is with vertical melt spraying for pilot and small–scale production, the second is based on a plasma atomization unit for the production of powder from secondary metallurgical processing (wire). Prototypes of the products will be ready in the first quarter of 2023. The company plans to expand this area of production.
With the start of production of new products, the Center for Additive Technologies of the plant expands the line of manufactured additive equipment. The Obukhov plant is already producing an industrial high-temperature additive installation "Casket", which allows manufacturing products from structural thermoplastic materials. In addition, the company produces a line of 3D printers "Helios" designed for education. The range of this equipment includes three models of additive machines equipped with one or two extruders and equipped with construction chambers with a volume of 18 to 36 liters. Helios is one of the few domestic 3D printers in the Register of Russian Industrial Products.
This year, the Concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz-Antey" held a competition in honor of its anniversary, which included the creation of 3D models using 3D printers "Helios". The main goal of the competition was the development and support of socially significant state projects by the Concern, in particular, the national project "Education".
Having started the development of the production of modern high-tech equipment with the basic school 3D printer "Helios", the Obukhov Plant continuously expands the production and technological competencies necessary to create a center for the manufacture of additive equipment. In addition to the production of the above-mentioned products, the company is working on the creation of a completely domestic "metal" 3D printer and has already put into pilot operation an atomizer made only from domestic components.
Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region is one of the largest integrated associations of the Russian military–industrial complex, which includes more than 60 high-tech enterprises. The total number of employees of the holding is over 130 thousand people. The Concern's products are supplied to more than 50 countries around the world.
