According to the official representative of the department, Major General Igor Konashenkov, two Ukrainian drones (UAVs) were also destroyed over the settlement of Vladimirovka and 12 multiple rocket launchers of the Smerch system were intercepted in the Kamenka area of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
According to the Ministry of Defense, in total during the day, Russian high-precision air-launched missiles hit 17 military facilities of Ukraine. Among them are eight areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, five artillery firing positions and multiple rocket launchers, as well as two strong points.
"A command post and a warehouse of rocket and artillery weapons in the area of the Pokrovskoye settlement of the Dnipropetrovsk region were also destroyed," Konashenkov said.
The operational and tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces has also fulfilled its tasks. Its forces hit two control points, nine strong points and areas of concentration of manpower and equipment, as well as five ammunition and fuel depots. As a result of the strikes, over 200 nationalists and 23 armored vehicles were destroyed. Rocket troops and artillery, in turn, hit 319 areas of concentration of enemy manpower and military equipment, as well as 12 control points and two warehouses of rocket and artillery weapons.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed footage of a missile strike by the Iskander operational-tactical missile system (OTRK), inflicted on the control points of military formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was also reported that Russian air defense systems destroyed 18 Ukrainian UAVs and two Smerch projectiles.
The day before, the military department published a video of launches of Kalibr cruise missiles from a submarine at Ukrainian military facilities: the crew of a diesel-electric submarine launched cruise missiles from the Black Sea. As well as footage of the combat work of tank crews and artillery calculations during strikes on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The footage shows how several tanks with the letter Z printed on the hull strike at enemy positions, and at the same time artillery fire is being fired.
At the same time, it became known that the Russian military destroyed the Ukrainian installation of the Tochka-U complex, from which Kherson, liberated from Ukrainian nationalists, was fired.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special operation to protect the civilian population of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). It was preceded by the aggravation of the situation in the region, the appeal of the leadership of the DPR and LPR to the Russian Federation with a request for help and the subsequent recognition by Russia of the independence of the republics of Donbass.
