Today, the main manufacturers of high-precision missiles, including Kalibr missiles, are contracted by the Ministry of Defense with orders for the supply of high-precision weapons until 2030, and some until 2033. Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, who oversees the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, said this in an interview with RT.
"Therefore, these enterprises are doing well with the economy. They see their orders for several years ahead, have the opportunity to plan the necessary production capabilities, and are constantly working on the modernization of weapons systems. They live and develop by themselves, they have a very good modernization potential," said the deputy head of the Government of the Russian Federation.
"All the recent state armament programs, since 2011, have paid special attention to the creation and mass entry of high-precision weapons into the troops, increasing the production capabilities of our military-industrial complex from year to year. Today we provide almost all the needs of our Armed Forces in this effective weapon," Borisov stressed.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, almost all surface and submarine ships of the Navy are equipped with Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles. "Including diesel submarines of Project 636.3, which effectively use them from the Black Sea, reaching almost anywhere in modern Ukraine and hitting the necessary military infrastructure facilities," he said.
Borisov recalled that such weapons have increased accuracy characteristics and can be used for local destruction of clusters of equipment, infrastructural military facilities, command posts, warehouses with weapons and other things.
"Due to the increased combat power and good accuracy characteristics, the circular probable deviation of these weapons systems is several meters. And, as our military likes to say, sometimes from several hundred kilometers such weapons fall into the stake. That is, it has almost zero deviation, which, of course, significantly increases the effectiveness of these weapons relative to area weapons, which leads to huge destruction, to huge casualties among the civilian population. As you can see, our Armed Forces, while conducting this operation, take care of the civilian population. Because we are not at war with them. We are fighting to ensure certain conditions for the development of the Russian-speaking population," the official said.
