In the Chinese province of Shandong, a giant radar was built aimed towards Japan, which allows you to observe the launches of ballistic missiles, says the American edition of Defense News, referring to satellite images obtained in February by Maxar Technologies.
The publication notes that the radar, which is part of the Chinese missile attack warning system, is able to track almost the entire airspace over the territory of Japan. The publication admits that the station can detect aircraft with an effective scattering area of 10 square meters at a distance of 5,600 kilometers.
In February, the South China Morning Post newspaper reported that an air defense system from the United States, including anti-aircraft missiles and AN/FPS-11 radar station, which is located on Dongyin Island, did not notice a small Chinese Y-12 civilian transport aircraft approaching Taiwan.
In August 2021, Izvestia, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense, reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces received a 104J6 meter-range radar capable of "seeing" stealth aircraft, in particular the American F-35 Lightning II, for experimental duty.
