The Ministry of Defense of China has issued a release on the exercises of the PLA Air Force and Navy in the area of Taiwan Island. Recall that these maneuvers started after a delegation of American senators arrived in Taiwan. And before that, Washington openly stated that they would make every effort to prevent the reunification of Taiwan with China.

The official representative of the PLA, senior colonel (the Chinese rank, which corresponds to the officers above the colonel, but below the general – on the shoulder straps 4 vertically arranged stars between two stripes) Shi Yi very eloquently commented on the conduct of maneuvers by Chinese troops near Taiwan:

Those who play with fire will burn themselves. Our troops are on high alert and will firmly defend the national sovereignty and security of the People's Republic of China. We intend to maintain regional stability, which is being violated from the outside.

It is very clear who the PLA officer meant by "playing with fire." We are talking about the United States of America, which frankly does not want to take into account that, and other countries of the world have their own interests. Shi Yi noted that it is the United States that continues to do everything to increase the likelihood of an armed conflict.

Recall that two J-11 and J-16 fighters entered the so-called Taiwan air defense identification zone. This was reported by the "Ministry of Defense" of Taiwan.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian noted that Chinese military maneuvers are directed against the provocative visit of representatives of the American authorities to Taiwan.

And this is the statement of the representative of the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China Wu Qian:

The visit grossly violated the one-China principle and the provisions of the three joint communiques between China and the United States, and caused serious damage to Sino-American bilateral relations.

Chinese maneuvers in the area of Taiwan continue. They involve combat aircraft, as well as ships (including submarines) of the Chinese naval forces.
