In connection with the information published the other day about the supply of T-72 tanks by Poland to the armed formations of Ukraine, a large amount of contradictory information about the modification of these tanks has appeared.
At first, it was reported that the APU would receive the T-72M, which had been manufactured under a Soviet license since 1979. Currently, they are, of course, very outdated, both in terms of security characteristics and in terms of the quality of sighting systems.
Then there was data that almost T-72M1R, recently upgraded and received a thermal imaging gunner's sight, new communications equipment and satellite navigation, would be transferred to Ukraine. This option is much more dangerous, but by creating it, the developers for some reason saved on dynamic protection, which would necessarily affect the chances of surviving in battle.
Currently, photos of the transferred equipment have appeared on the Network. It can be seen that the T-72M1 are coming to Ukraine, which, in fact, are an export version of the T-72A. Their crews, if they survive in one or two battles, may consider it a great success, since it is quite easy to hit such tanks, and it is strange if any of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine voluntarily agree to fight on them.
