Hong Kong. April 8th. INTERFAX - North Korea continues the work begun earlier to restore the tunnel at the Pungeri nuclear test site, Yonhap news agency writes, citing a report by experts from the Vienna-based non-governmental European organization Open Nuclear Network.
"The DPRK has probably established the entrance to the N3 tunnel and started to restore it," the report says, which is based on commercial satellite photographs taken between March 24 and April 6.
As you know, there are four tunnels at the landfill, which were destroyed in 2018, while demolition work was carried out in the presence of a small group of invited foreign journalists.
Earlier, South Korean intelligence reported on the restoration work at the landfill.
According to her, the work may indicate that the DPRK is preparing for a nuclear test explosion. Intelligence noted that "it will be possible to restore the facility in a month."
