Russian marines, in particular tank units, are involved in a special operation against Ukrainian armed formations. They are armed with T-80BV with 1100-horsepower gas turbine engines with high speed and maneuverability characteristics. Mounted on them, smoothbore 125 mm cannon launchers are capable of using various types of ammunition, including guided long-range missiles.
Russian combat vehicles confidently destroy various enemy armored vehicles. So, a short video appeared on the Internet, which shows the consequences of the duel of the marine "eightieth" with the T-64BV nationalists.
The fight did not last long - the first cumulative projectile knocked out the enemy, who quickly caught fire. This is evidenced by the rising column of black smoke. Perhaps, when the flame reaches the ammunition, there will be an explosion with the tearing off of a multi-ton tower, which will fly away for many meters.
If we talk about Ukrainian tanks, then since 2017, the local media have been talking a lot about the modernization work being carried out, which was characterized as very successful.
It was reported about the installation of improved sighting equipment and that thermal imaging detection devices were received by gunners-operators and commanders.
The Ukrainian command, preparing for joining NATO, took measures to ensure that the means of communication comply with the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance, therefore, the T-64BV of the 2017 model was equipped with radio stations with a foreign element base.
In order to improve dynamic protection, elements of "reactive armor" "Knife" were placed in the existing hinged containers, however, as it turned out in reality, it is no better than the old "Contact", since it does not neutralize cumulative ammunition too effectively. And in general, the "sixty-fourth" APU did not justify the hopes placed on them - the so-called modernization turned out to be a waste of money.
