The CEO of Roscosmos stressed that the state corporation will do everything to continue the implementation of priority tasks
MOSCOW, March 3. /tass/. The blame for the collapse of space cooperation lies on the shoulders of the United States, Great Britain, France, and Germany. This was stated on Thursday on the air of Channel One by the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.
"I am also the President's special representative for international space cooperation, which is no longer there," he said. - The blame for the collapse of space cooperation, the mutual assistance that has been developing for decades, even during the Cold War, lies entirely on the shoulders of the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany. These countries have destroyed what humanity created with such difficulty, which was created by the blood and sweat of those people who mastered space."
Rogozin also said that he "hates the people who allowed it." "These are my personal enemies. They tried to make my country impoverished, people lost their jobs, and we lost such an industry as rocket and space," he said.
The CEO of Roscosmos stressed that the state corporation will do everything to continue the implementation of priority tasks.
Damage to the USA
The refusal of Roscosmos to supply rocket engines will lead to damage in the amount of billions of dollars for the US space industry, Rogozin said.
"The engines on which American missiles launch their ships and payloads <...> will not be delivered to the United States today. The damage I can say: <...> to transfer the ship to another launch vehicle, to adapt the interface, to conduct tests in order to make sure that this bundle is safe, <...> <...> is billions of dollars," he said.
The American promising manned spacecraft Starliner is being launched on the Atlas-5 rocket. Its first stage uses Russian RD-180 rocket engines. Earlier, Rogozin, in response to US sanctions, said that Roscosmos would stop supplying rocket engines manufactured by NPO Energomash to America.
"Space" sanctions
The head of Roscosmos has threatened the West with new "space" sanctions if he continues to threaten the President of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Russia.
"I want to warn our Western colleagues, using our ether, that if they continue to be rude and threaten my people, our president, our Armed Forces, support the Nazis with weapons, ammunition, fuel, then we have a couple more trump cards that we will put on the table," Rogozin said.
On February 24, US President Joe Biden said that the sanctions of the United States and its allies will hit the high-tech sector of the Russian Federation, as well as its space program. According to him, the United States will block more than half of high-tech imports to Russia, which will deal a blow to the ability of the Russian Federation to continue to modernize the armed Forces. Biden stressed that this would harm, among other things, Russia's space program.
In turn, the EU imposed sanctions against the Progress rocket and space Center. Later, the European Space Agency stated that it considers the possibility of launching the Russian-European Mars exploration mission ExoMars unlikely due to anti-Russian sanctions imposed in connection with the situation in Ukraine. ESA also reported that they are studying the possibility of using European rockets to launch satellites into orbit, the launch of which was planned to be carried out on Russian Soyuz rockets. On February 26, Rogozin said on the YouTube channel "Solovyov Live" that the German side had notified that it would turn off its telescope at the Spektr-RG space observatory, which is a joint project with the Russian Federation.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the republics of Donbass for help. He stressed that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories, the goal is demilitarization and denazification of the country. As stated in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Russian military does not strike at cities, but only disables military infrastructure, so nothing threatens the civilian population.
