According to the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, in recent years the volume of aid has more than doubled
MOSCOW, March 1. /tass/. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Russian military department is implementing a set of measures to improve the effectiveness of high-tech medical care for military personnel, citizens discharged from military service, and their families.
"In recent years, its volume has more than doubled. So, the necessary operations are carried out for military personnel the very next day after the diagnosis," the minister said at a conference call on Tuesday.
He noted that since 2015, work has been underway to form a system of telemedicine consultations. "Thanks to online technologies, today military personnel in remote and hard-to-reach garrisons, including in the Far East and the Arctic, receive the help of specialists from leading clinics of the Ministry of Defense," Shoigu said.
According to him, mobile telemedicine systems are widely used by Russian military doctors in Syria.
"I would like to emphasize," Shoigu noted, "that medical technologies were in great demand during the coronavirus pandemic."
"They were actively used not only for the treatment of patients, but also for remote training of medical personnel and holding scientific and practical conferences," the minister said, offering to hear the report of the Chief of the Main Military Medical Department on the ongoing measures regarding the availability and quality of modern medical care to servicemen, citizens discharged from military service, and their family members.
