More than 300 people and about 50 pieces of equipment take part in them
TASS, February 28. The servicemen of the Eastern Military District (VVO) were raised on a training alert and marched to the Uspenovsky district as part of bilateral live-fire exercises on Sakhalin, the press service of the district reported on Monday.
"The servicemen of the army Corps of the Eastern Military District on Sakhalin have begun working out tasks within the framework of a bilateral company tactical exercise with live firing at the Uspenovsky training ground. During the first stage of the exercise, motorized infantry were raised on a training alert and as part of a company tactical group marched on regular equipment to the designated area. At the Uspenovsky training ground, the units worked out an episode on the anti-amphibious defense of a section of the sea coast in conditions of countering sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a conditional enemy," the report says.
At the second stage of the exercises, motorized rifle units of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces, with the support of gunners and calculations of unmanned aircraft, will have to defend the coast of the island and prevent the landing of a simulated enemy. In total, more than 300 servicemen of the army corps of the Air Force and about 50 units of weapons, military and special equipment are involved in the exercises, the press service said.
