VLADIVOSTOK, Feb 28 - RIA Novosti. Military personnel of a separate radar unit of the Eastern Military District on Wrangel Island in Chukotka during the training conducted monitoring of airspace in the Arctic and found unmanned aerial vehicles of the "enemy", the Air Defense Ministry reports.
"Specialists of the radio engineering troops conducted monitoring of the airspace in the Arctic zone of Responsibility using the highway radar complex (TRLC) deployed on Wrangel Island. According to the plan of the event, the flight of small-sized single targets flying at different altitudes and speeds, simulating unmanned aerial vehicles of a conditional enemy, was simulated by special equipment for calculating the TRLC," the report says.
During the practical part of the training, all small-sized targets were detected and classified, information about them was summarized and analyzed, then promptly transferred to the district air defense command post.
