The ships of the Baltic Fleet have worked out the destruction of the air targets of the conditional enemy
During the exercises on air defense (air defense) in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region, surface ships of the Baltic Fleet were involved. The crews of the ships worked out countering the means of a simulated enemy raid. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the fleet.
"At the Baltic Fleet base in the city of Baltiysk, joint exercises were held with duty shifts of control centers, shipboard calculations of air defense posts and naval aviation units with the detection of unidentified air targets and the repulse of air attacks by a simulated enemy," the press service reported.
According to the scenario of the exercises, the means of radio surveillance revealed the aircraft of the conditional enemy, which was approaching the base point. After that, the ships prepared air defense equipment for use. Also, the ship's calculations began receiving and analyzing data on the air situation. The press service noted that the air targets were conditionally destroyed after classification. Calculations of air defense systems used shipboard anti-aircraft missile and artillery systems. More than ten ships were involved in the exercises, including corvettes, minesweepers, boats, small missile ships and small anti-submarine ships.
In February, the crews of ships of the Pacific Fleet conducted live firing exercises in the Avacha Bay. The ships used multi-barreled artillery installations.
Earlier in the same month, artillery units of the Baltic Fleet used large-caliber Hyacinth guns in exercises.
