TSAMTO, February 24. Military personnel of the special purpose unit of the Southern Military District, stationed in the Krasnodar Territory, have started practical training on modern Typhoon armored vehicles.
The servicemen practice driving vehicles in various weather conditions on rough terrain, master the skills of maneuvering at speed, moving as part of a column, as well as conducting flank and frontal shooting from small arms at targets at a distance of more than 500 m.
The special forces of the Southern Military District will also have to perform a multi-kilometer march with overcoming natural and artificial obstacles, including under the influence of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a conditional enemy. In addition, the training program includes conducting a defensive battle, firing from combat vehicles in motion, dismounting, leaving the encirclement.
Modern Typhoon armored vehicles are equipped with a combined protection made of ceramic armor and can withstand the detonation of an explosive device with a capacity of up to 8 kg of TNT under any wheel and anywhere under the bottom. There are also 5 video cameras installed on the car, providing an all-round view of the crew and the driver. It is also possible to install a remotely controlled machine gun module on the Typhoon, from which a shooter can fire using a remote control and images from video cameras, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
