The new Russian T-14 Armata tank can become a real predator once on the battlefield. It is well protected, even better armed and uses a variety of modern technologies to detect targets and protect against threats.
One of the most interesting design features of the T-14 is an armored capsule in the front of the car, in which a crew of three people is placed. The 125 mm tank gun is located in an uninhabited turret, its guidance and loading are automated.
The capsule with the crew is covered with multilayer armor and is able to protect tankers when any anti-tank projectile hits the Armata, writes 19fortyfive. In addition, the front part of the T-14 is equipped with an active protection system designed to neutralize guided missiles, rockets and anti-tank grenade launchers. The standard equipment of the tank includes a camouflage kit "Mantle" with a radio-absorbing coating, capable of hiding the tank not only from enemy reconnaissance, but also from its radars.
Thanks to wide-angle video cameras, the crew sees everything that happens around the car from their capsule. The commander and gunner have panoramic sights on the tower, combined with a thermal imager and a laser rangefinder. The system works well in any weather and time of day. The 48-ton Armata with a 1500-horsepower engine can move at a speed of 80 km/h - faster than the T-90 or Abrams. The power reserve is 500 km.
However, this does not exhaust the advantages of the T-14. Armata is not only a tank, but also a universal combat platform for the new armored personnel carrier and other types of combat vehicles.
