TSAMTO, February 21. The crew of the state-owned Berkut airline from Kazakhstan underwent annual retraining under additional professional training programs for the Mi-171A2 helicopter on the basis of the U-UAZ aviation training center of the Russian Helicopters holding.

The course program included 60 hours of theoretical classes.

"Such training allows us to improve the skills and knowledge gained during the initial training of crews for the Mi-171A2 helicopter, which takes place under the supply contract. The aviation training center of the enterprise has been validated by the authorized civil aviation authority of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the aviation rules of the republic, pilots of this country annually improve their qualifications in order to ensure flight safety," said Nikolay Kolesov, CEO of the Russian Helicopters Holding.

The first Mi-171A2 helicopter was delivered to Kazakhstan in early 2019. The Mi-171A2 helicopter is the most modern modification of the Mi-8/17 type machines. The use of a digital onboard equipment complex on the Mi-171A2 helicopter, manufactured according to the "glass cabin" principle, allows reducing the crew to two people.

During the training, special attention was paid to the design and flight operation of the Mi-171A2 helicopter and its systems and assemblies, flight characteristics of the aircraft. The training program included disciplines on the study of aviation and electronic equipment, practical aerodynamics, navigation, aviation meteorology, aviation communications and radiotelephony, flight safety management systems.

During the classes, the causes of aviation accidents in civil aviation for the last calendar and current year were analyzed. The use of emergency rescue equipment was studied, as well as the actions of the crew in emergency situations were worked out. Upon completion of training, on the basis of the results of the examinations conducted, the pilots of Kazakhstan were issued a certificate of advanced training.
