Moscow. February 20. INTERFAX - The Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation conducted an exercise to cover a command post from attack drones of a conditional enemy with the help of anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes (ZRPC) "Pantsir-S", the press service of the fleet reported on Sunday.
"The servicemen with the help of modern electronic warfare systems violated the control of unmanned aerial vehicles at a safe distance. To destroy UAVs on distant approaches, firing positions of anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes "Pantsir-S1" were equipped,"the press service reported.
They noted that according to the plan of practical actions, specialists in the course of conducting radio intelligence detected the movement of a group of drones of a conditional enemy in the direction of a protected military facility.
"The integrated use of electronic warfare and air defense systems made it possible to reliably cover their own facilities from air strikes," the report says.
According to the Baltic Fleet, about 100 servicemen took part in the exercise, about 10 pieces of equipment were involved.
Pantsir-S is a short-range air defense system (developed by the Shipunov Instrument Design Bureau, NPO High-Precision Complexes Holding, Rostec). The complex is in service with the Russian army and is exported.
The Baltic Fleet is an operational and strategic association of the Russian Navy on the Baltic Sea. The main bases are Baltiysk (Kaliningrad region) and Kronstadt (Leningrad region).
In 2016, it was officially reported that the 11th Army Corps was formed as part of the Baltic Fleet in the Kaliningrad Region.
