The Russian military has used a new version of the barrage ammunition (sometimes such devices are called kamikaze drones) "Lancet" on the territory of Syria. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to its source.
The unmanned complex was used several times. In comparison with its predecessors, it received a larger warhead. The developers have also increased the duration and range of the UAV flight.
The device received one large X-shaped wing and an X-shaped tail: before that, two symmetrical X-shaped wings were installed on the Lancet-3.

Earlier, the basic version of the Lancet-3 device was used in Syria. It was equipped with a warhead weighing three kilograms. The flight time of this modification is 40 minutes, the maximum speed is 110 kilometers per hour. The take-off weight is 12 kilograms.
The Lancet-3 complex received several types of guidance systems: coordinate, using optoelectronic means and combined. The drone was equipped with a television communication channel that transmits an image of the target and allows you to confirm the success of its defeat. The type of fuse is pre—contact.
A barrage of ammunition is understood as a weapon capable of a long flight in the target area in search mode. When a target is detected, the UAV hits it, like a conventional guided air-to-surface missile, and at the same time dies itself.
The Lancet was developed by ZALA AERO GROUP, founded in 2003. It produces unmanned mini-planes, unmanned helicopters and balloons.
In recent years, Russia has been able to approach the Western countries, if we talk about UAVs. In particular, the Pacer reconnaissance and strike complex, better known as Orion, was developed and tested in Syria.
Subsequently, he received new opportunities: last year, a video was posted online showing the destruction of a helicopter-type drone by a new Russian UAV. The tests were conducted at a training ground in the Crimea. The device shot down the target with a guided missile, the distance of defeat was four kilometers.

Recall that last year in Dubna, the first plant in Russia was built, which will produce attack UAVs of aircraft and helicopter types.
