China believes that the United States is lagging behind Russia in the field of hypersonic weapons. And the tests of the hypersonic complex "Dagger" in the Arctic are cited as the main argument.
In an article published on the WeChat platform and translated by the InoSMI portal, military observer Shao Yongling notes that the tests were conducted to test the adaptability of the MiG-31K fighter and the Dagger missile to Arctic conditions. Currently, the complexes are deployed in the southern part of the country, but after testing they may appear in the Northern Fleet and in the Eastern Military District.
WeChat writes: "Daggers" are not just in service, Russia is constantly testing and refining them. In combination with the MiG-31K fighter, this missile will significantly increase the anti-ship capabilities of the Russian Navy.
All this, according to the Chinese observer, increases the gap between the United States and Russia in the field of research, development and use of hypersonic missiles. And the United States is concerned about this. Several projects have been launched here over the past two years, but none have been brought to mind.
