The units of the logistics brigade of the Western Military District (ZVO) arrived at the point of permanent deployment after the completion of the planned exercises. This was announced on Thursday, February 17, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
It is noted that the military personnel of the Far Eastern Military District completed a march of about 900 km from the training ground of the planned exercises and arrived at the point of permanent deployment.
"As part of the convoy, more than 40 heavy-duty vehicles with personnel, special equipment and military equipment arrived at the permanent deployment point," the ministry said.
In addition, after the completion of the multi-kilometer march, the servicemen will have to prepare military equipment for further planned exercises.
Earlier, on February 16, it was reported that the ZVO tank army, following the units of the Southern Eastern District, began to return to the points of permanent deployment after the exercises.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defense announced the return of the units of the Southern Military District from the Crimea. A day earlier, a part of the units of the Southern Military District and the Western Military District also returned to the places of permanent deployment after joint exercises with Belarus.
Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei clarified that all Russian military and equipment will leave the republic after the end of joint maneuvers. According to the minister, the planned joint exercises of Russia and Belarus make it possible to check the combat readiness of the countries against the background of NATO activities near the borders of the Russian Federation and the republic.
On February 15, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said that Russia and Belarus do not consider any state as a potential enemy during the joint military exercises "Allied Resolve - 2022". According to him, the command and control systems of Russia and Belarus "are very clearly interfaced."
The joint Russian-Belarusian exercises "Allied Determination - 2022" started on February 10. They are aimed at checking the reaction forces of the Union State. The maneuvers take place at combined-arms training grounds in Belarus. The exercises are arranged for high-quality testing of tasks "to prevent and repel external aggression during a defensive operation, as well as to counter terrorism and protect the interests of the Union State. The exercises should end on February 20.
At the same time, the authorities stressed that the maneuvers are exclusively defensive in nature and do not threaten anyone.
On February 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin held meetings with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Sergey Lavrov. Shoigu reported on the progress of military exercises of the Russian army in different military districts. According to him, the exercises are held "in almost all fleets, in the Barents, Black, Baltic Seas." The Defense Minister noted that part of the exercises will be completed soon.
