Acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Alexander Chupriyan said that the agency has adopted a program for technical re-equipment until 2030. The statement was made during an expanded board of the Ministry with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In particular, the agency will purchase new special vehicles for mine clearance and heavy-class robotic complexes for clearing minefields.
"A program has been developed for the technical re-equipment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry units with fire, rescue, special and aviation equipment until 2030, according to which almost 15 billion rubles were additionally allocated to the Russian Emergencies Ministry at the end of 2021," Alexander Chupriyan said.
According to the program, new aircraft, fire and rescue equipment, emergency rescue equipment, engineering weapons, communications equipment and others have already been delivered. According to TASS, this year the Ministry of Emergency Situations plans to purchase 198 samples of new equipment for almost 2 billion rubles. It will include special vehicles for mine clearance, an operational vehicle of mountain rescuers, a heavy-class robotic complex for clearing minefields.
"In 2021, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia additionally allocated 6 billion rubles for the purchase of fire, rescue, special and aviation equipment and 22.3 billion rubles for equipping Arctic aviation units," Alexander Chupriyan said. He added that modern fire and rescue equipment, high- and ultra-high-performance pumping and bag complexes are also being developed at the moment.
Staffing of the EMERCOM of Russia was 86 percent. "In general, the number of staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, determined by the regulation to perform tasks in the field of civil defense and protection from emergencies, is more than 288.5 thousand, staffing by the Ministry is 86%," the head of the department said.
At the same time, now the number of inspectors of the state fire supervision is insufficient based on the housing stock of the country. "By 2025, we plan to increase the number of state supervision inspectors to the standard number," Alexander Chupriyan said.
The volume of complex tasks that the department has to solve is growing. So, in 2021, fire protection units extinguished 4 percent more fires than last year. 622 large fires were eliminated by an elevated call number (1 BIS and higher).
