In China, for the first time, a new modification of the PLZ−45 self-propelled artillery system was shown, intended for export deliveries. Compared to the original version, it has a thoroughly redesigned external and internal appearance.

The shape of the tower has changed significantly. Massive modules with grenade launchers appeared ahead, exposing aerosol curtains. Judging by the presence of sensors that detect laser radiation, there is a full-fledged optoelectronic suppression system on board, capable of disrupting the guidance of high-precision enemy ammunition.

The anti-rollback parts of the 155 mm howitzer are enclosed in a special casing. The roof design has also become completely different. This gave rise to the assumption that the ACS finally received a fully automated charging system.

Previously, this combat vehicle was criticized for its relatively low rate of fire by modern standards. In maximum mode, she could fire no more than four or five shots per minute. The constant rate of fire was reduced to only two shots per minute. This is much less than the majority of currently produced foreign artillery systems. Apparently, now the self-propelled gun will be able to fire at least twice as many shells at the enemy for the previous time standards.

The automated guidance and fire control system was to be refined. The nomenclature of ammunition used has also been updated.

The new bulwarks are made along the entire length of the hull - previously there was a small screen covering only the front part of the chassis.

After all these innovations, the self-propelled gun probably gained weight, which probably led to the use of an increased power engine.

In the original version, the PLZ-45 weighed 33,000 kg. The maximum firing range of an active-rocket projectile was 39,000 meters.

The power of the diesel engine is 520 hp. The speed on the highway is up to 65 km/h. The power reserve is up to 450 km. The crew is 5 people.

Earlier it was reported that the PLZ-05 self-propelled gun supplied to the People's Liberation Army of China has also been modernized. A new transport-charging machine was also created for her.
