PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Feb 16 - RIA Novosti. A naval battle with a conditional enemy was conducted by two corvettes of the Pacific Fleet in the Sea of Okhotsk as part of planned exercises, the press service of the Eastern Military District (VVO) for the Pacific Fleet reported.
"At the exit from the area with a mine hazard, the crews of the corvettes found unidentified targets changing course to approach a detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet. The combat crews of the "Loud" and "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" corvettes used the PK-2 ship complex with radar and electronic interference to minimize missile danger and engaged in a naval battle with the ships of a conditional enemy," the press service of the Air Defense Ministry said.
The targets were successfully destroyed. After the completion of the combat exercises, the sailors conducted training on the ship's anti-sabotage defense, the press service added.
The Pacific Fleet exercises in the Sea of Okhotsk involved more than 20 warships and support vessels, as well as aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation.
