Colonel Suchkov said that Russia will update the missile attack warning system
The Missile Attack Warning System (SPRN) of the Russian Armed Forces will be completely updated by 2030. According to Colonel Sergey Suchkov, head of the Main Center for Missile Attack Warning of the Space Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces, in an interview with Krasnaya Zvezda, it will be based on a new generation of Voronezh-DM radar stations (radars).
"In the future, until 2030, the development of the SPRN provides for the modernization of a number of VZG radars (high factory readiness. - approx. "Tapes.ru"), who are on combat duty in the Krasnodar Territory, Irkutsk region. The introduction of these stations into the SPRN will ensure the completion of the re-equipment of the SPRN on a new generation radar," Suchkov said.
The new Voronezh-DM high-readiness radars are designed to detect ballistic missiles and determine their targets along the flight path. They require significantly fewer maintenance personnel than previous models, in addition, they are less energy-consuming, and their construction takes less time.
Earlier it became known that the concern of East Kazakhstan Region Almaz-Antey showed a mobile version of the ROSC-1 radar-optical complex. The equipment of the complex, designed to protect objects from drones, was placed on the KAMAZ chassis. The container contains the place of the operator of the X-band radar station (radar) and radio-electronic equipment. Operators can also work with the complex remotely.
