Military aviation exercises have begun in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Pilots of supersonic fighter-interceptors MiG-31BM will have to work out interception and counteraction to high-precision weapons of a conditional enemy.
According to the scenario of the first stage, the crews will show how they are able to withdraw the winged equipment from under attack. In the new positional area, they will work out combat training tasks for patrolling the airspace and countering high-precision weapons of the "enemy".
"MiG-31BM crews will perform detection and conditional destruction of targets simulating cruise, anti-aircraft and aircraft guided missiles, as well as combat intelligence and control systems," the press service of the Central Military District said.
In addition to the MiG-31BM and the AN-26 and AN-12 transporters, the AK A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft, which is called the eyes, ears and brain of the Air Force, is involved in the training. It is needed for detecting and tracking targets, alerting command posts, for controlling fighters and strike aircraft.
After the end of the first stage, the crews will relocate to Buryatia: there they are waiting for combat launches of guided air-to-air missiles at single and group targets.
