More than 80% of the cuts were made by overhead personnel and a non-industrial group, said Maxim Ovchinnikov, Deputy General Director of the State Corporation for Economics and Finance
MOSCOW, February 15. /tass/. The reduction in the number of employees of the Russian rocket and space industry almost does not affect employees involved in real production. This was reported to journalists by Maxim Ovchinnikov, First Deputy Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation for Economics and Finance.
"The lion's share (more than 80%) of the reduction in the number fell on overhead personnel and non-industrial group (employees of departments not involved in the production activities of the enterprise - servicing and providing services)," Ovchinnikov said.
According to the first Deputy Director General of Roscosmos, this is due to the optimization of production processes, the transfer of some functions to outsourcing, as well as the sale of non-core assets.
As Ovchinnikov noted, the main reduction of staff over the past three years, including in the conditions of the pandemic, was due to natural causes: retirement and voluntary dismissal in connection with the transition to a new job. "To date, the total number of employees of the rocket and space industry in Russia is 180 thousand people," he added.
Earlier, in an interview with Vedomosti, Ovchinnikov noted that due to the introduction of new technologies and getting rid of non-core assets, the process of optimizing the activities of enterprises belonging to the state corporation continues. According to him, the expected optimization of the number of the industry for 2019-2021 is 8.8%.
