The ships of the Black Sea Fleet conducted tactical maneuvers as part of the exercises and destroyed the submarine of a conditional enemy with the help of artillery combat. This was announced on Monday, February 15, by the press service of the World Cup.
According to the press service, in the Black Sea, the ships practiced conducting naval artillery combat, searching for and destroying a submarine of a conditional enemy, as well as air defense.
In addition, the crews of the ships worked out the process of defending the coast of the Crimean Peninsula, the bases of the fleet forces, as well as maritime communications and areas of maritime economic activity.
The exercise involved, in particular, frigates, patrol ships, small missile ships and missile boats.
Earlier, on February 12, it was reported that more than 30 ships were taking part in the large-scale exercises of the Russian Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet). It was noted that the purpose of the exercises is to work out the defense of the Crimean sea coast, the bases of the Black Sea Fleet, as well as objects of the country's economy and maritime communications from possible military threats of a conditional enemy.
On February 10, it was reported that a detachment of large amphibious ships of the Russian Navy arrived in Sevastopol. In Crimea, the ships will have to undergo a post-arrival inspection.
In accordance with the training plan of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 2022, a series of naval exercises are held in January-February in all areas of responsibility of the fleets. The exercises take place in the waters of the Mediterranean, Northern, Okhotsk Seas, in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Pacific Ocean.
In total, over 140 warships and support vessels, more than 60 aircraft, 1 thousand units of military equipment, about 10 thousand military personnel were involved in the participation.
