A new Chinese diesel-electric submarine was caught on video. And now experts, studying the new frames, think to which class she belongs.
This is reported by the Chinese edition of China Times. And before that, The Drive portal also published a photo of an unknown submarine. It is assumed that its parameters are fatter than those of Type 039A. The length does not exceed fifty meters. Another difference from the double-hulled Type 039A: the unknown submarine is single-hulled.
Experts express the opinion that this submarine was built as an export option. The PRC showed something similar in 2017 at the defense exhibition in Bangkok - the S600 submarine. At least, its length was about 50 meters. Thailand, Pakistan, and Myanmar are named as potential buyer countries.
