The training center received optical sights and simulators for training astronauts in the skills of manual docking of ships
MOSCOW, February 10. /tass/. Shvabe Holding (part of Rostec State Corporation) has supplied optical sights and simulators to the Cosmonaut Training Center (CPC) for training astronauts in the skills of manual docking of spacecraft. This was reported on Thursday in the press service of the state corporation.
"The Shvabe Holding of Rostec State Corporation has supplied the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center with training sights for practicing the skills of docking manned spacecraft with orbital stations," the report says.
According to the press service, the training simulators were created to improve the skills of docking spacecraft with orbital stations and orientation in space.
"The training devices are made on the basis of nine-channel VSK-4 sights - space periscopes, which are used on all modifications of the Soyuz spacecraft family," Rostec clarified.
As Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive director of Rostec State Corporation, noted, the visors of the development and production of the Ural Optical-Mechanical Plant of the Shvabe Holding have been used for more than 50 years, since the first launches of the Soyuz, and have repeatedly helped astronauts to get out of emergency situations when approaching. "To date, we have installed three training devices for the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, and we also continue to equip Soyuz spacecraft with our visors," he said.
