Moscow. February 10th. INTERFAX - Specialists of the Military Construction Complex of the Russian Defense Ministry have completed the construction of a new berth at the base of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet in Cape Cossack of the Kamchatka Territory, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
"The new hydraulic engineering structure will ensure the safe placement of submarines, protect them from wave effects, and also provide the ships with the necessary energy facilities and engineering networks," the message received by Interfax reads.
Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov arrived to inspect the progress of the construction of the pier zone facilities as part of a working trip to the troops of the Eastern Military District.
"Currently, work on shore protection, installation of crane tracks of the weapons loading point is continuing at the facility, a battery workshop, a compressor station, power supply facilities are being built, including tunnels of communications with utility networks with their laying from the marine water intake station," the report says.
Also, military builders are building a modern storage base with monolithic bulk reinforced concrete structures in Kamchatka for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that along with the construction of special facilities, the development of the social infrastructure of the military garrison continues. Last year, another multi-storey residential building was built and inhabited for submariners and their families, it is planned to build a secondary school for 500 places, as well as two kindergartens.
