The Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to operate several hundred American-made Humvee SUVs. On Tuesday, photos from the fifth maintenance and repair center of these foreign cars that arrived from overseas, located in Zhytomyr, were posted on the Network.

In his specialized workshop, the walls of which are decorated with US flags, cars are undergoing major repairs.
The machines are disassembled, faulty parts and mechanisms are replaced and, after painting, they are sent back to various units, including those located in the Donbass.
In total, according to various estimates, there are currently 350 Humvees of various modifications in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, delivered as part of free military assistance, including armored and conventional models. Most of them, as reported, were in storage, although some managed to fight in Iraq at various times.
Also, the use of less than fifty old M1097A2, obtained back in the early noughties, continues.
They have been finalized at the Lviv armored repair plant. Additional protection was installed on them, armed with machine guns of the NSVT "Utes", night vision devices and new radio stations were installed. In this form, armored cars were sent to the territory of the former Yugoslavia, and then returned back to Ukraine.
Interestingly, a few years ago it was reported about the creation of a joint venture in Lviv for the repair and modernization of Humvee. The Ukrainian media then wrote that this facility would become a world-class center, and numerous orders from abroad were about to follow. However, everything, as always, was limited only to loud declarations.
