During tactical exercises that took place in the Leningrad region, calculations of electronic warfare systems "Palantin-K" prevented air strikes on the positions of our troops. The ZVO headquarters clarified that over 450 military personnel and about 80 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved in the exercises.
"The EW servicemen were alerted on a training alert. After that, they moved to the area of concentration on the territory of the rear support of the troops. The calculations successfully completed the task of intercepting an unmanned aerial vehicle to transmit coordinates and further air strikes," the press service of the Western Military District reported.
They told how this task was solved. First, the electronic warfare specialists determined the location and type of the unmanned aircraft signal. Then the location of the drone operator was calculated. The next step was to connect to the data exchange network. And finally, the suppression of the broadcast of various radio stations was carried out. All these actions were accompanied by the development of standards for technical and special training.
A few words about what the Palantin-K electronic warfare complex is. Mounted on four-axle KAMAZ vehicles, it is designed to suppress existing and promising radio communication systems, as well as for conducting electronic reconnaissance. The capabilities of the complex make it possible to "blind" the enemy's electronic systems in the ultrashort and shortwave ranges.
In addition, with the help of the "Stole", various types of interference can be created for navigation systems and a directional electronic strike can disable air defense radars or a command and control system. And this complex can also deprive the enemy of cellular and trunking communications.
The most important advantage of the "Stole" lies in its ability to combine the electronic warfare systems "Moscow", "Resident" and "Judoka" into a single working network.
