In 2022, the modernization of the ground-based special complex of the space geodetic system will be completed, said the head of the Military Topographic Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - the head of the Topographic Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Major General Alexander Zaliznyuk.
"The system will make it possible to clarify the geodetic parameters of the Earth, as well as provide troops with the initial geodetic and gravimetric data necessary for the use of weapons, military and special equipment," said the head of the topographic service.
In addition, A.Zaliznyuk announced the development of a promising space geodetic system.
"Work is planned to create a promising space geodesic system for monitoring the geophysical parameters of the Earth," quotes the head of the Military Topographic Department of the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
