Roscosmos posted a video on YouTube with a prototype of an anthropomorphic robot "Teledroid"
Roscosmos posted a video on YouTube with a prototype of the anthropomorphic robot "Teledroid", developed by the Scientific and Production Association (NGO) "Android Technology" and the Rocket and Space Corporation (RSC) "Energia".
The state corporation's message notes that the product "will be able to work in the aggressive environment of outer space and perform experimental testing of standard operations both in copying and in automatic mode."
"In the future, such an assistant should significantly reduce the necessary time for a person to stay in a dangerous environment and facilitate work outside the base on the surface of the planet, freeing the crew to solve other tasks," writes Roscosmos.
Dmitry Rogozin, CEO of the state corporation, clarified on Twitter that the overall layout of the robot is made of polyamide, and its "main purpose is to check the size for placement in the ship during transportation to the ISS."
"A mock-up is also being made for testing in a hydro laboratory. The current sample will appear in 2023, at the same time tests will begin on the vibration stand, as well as on electromagnetic compatibility and much more," he added Rogozin.
In October 2021, a representative of the Cosmonaut Training Center announced that the launch of the Teledroid robot into near-Earth orbit is scheduled for 2024.
In July 2020, the executive director of the NGO "Android Technology" Evgeny Dudorov said that the "Teledroid" is being created on the basis of the robot FEDOR (Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research).
