In the USA, deliveries of upgraded M2A4 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles to the troops have begun
BAE Systems has handed over to the US military a batch of upgraded M2A4 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs). The US Army received an IFV with an improved fire control system (FMS). This is reported by Defense Express.
The publication notes that the upgraded SLA and new surveillance devices will increase the effectiveness of the use of weapons of the machine. The M2A4 version retained the Bushmaster 25 mm automatic cannon and the TOW anti-tank missile system (ATGM). The M2A4 also received new tracks and suspension.
Initially, M2A4 was planned to be delivered to the troops in 2021. Deliveries of the upgraded car were delayed due to problems with batteries. During the tests, the Bradley batteries overheated, which led to the ingress of dangerous compounds into the combat compartment.
The Bradley BMP was adopted in 1981. Modern modifications of the car received an engine with a capacity of 675 horsepower, which provides a maximum speed of 66 kilometers per hour and a power reserve of 402 kilometers. The M2A4 troop compartment can accommodate six people.
Earlier in the USA, training manuals based on the Bradley BMP were shown . Outdated modifications of the machine will simulate Russian tanks in the exercises.
