Defence24 called the flight of a pair of MiG-31 aircraft over the Baltic Sea propaganda
The appearance of a pair of Russian two-seat supersonic fighter-interceptors MiG-31 in the sky over the Baltic Sea in the publication of the Polish edition of Defence24 was called propaganda.
In the corresponding note, attention was drawn to the flight of MiG-31 aircraft over the Baltic Sea, which took place in early February. "They usually operate in the Arctic or in the Russian Far East, where their huge range is an advantage," the newspaper writes.
Defence24 assures that the no longer new MiG-31 "are still an important element of the air defense (air defense) of Russia." "They are characterized by a long flight range, very high speed, achieved even without afterburners, and heavy missiles that can destroy air targets at a range of up to 280 kilometers," the publication says.
The publication calls the main task of the MiG-31 the fight against strategic bombers.
"Due to low maneuverability, high weight and the general specifics of operational capabilities, the appearance of this type of aircraft over the Baltic Sea has no operational justification, but only propaganda or training," the publication assures.
In January, on the pages of Defence24, Polish military columnist Maximilian Dura stated that the small missile ships of the 21631 Buyan-M project, equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, do not have a powerful air defense system, therefore they are defenseless in the open sea before a possible enemy strike. "That is why the actions of the surface groups currently being created should be considered a typical propaganda activity," the author assured.
