According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, new units and units of the mobile air defense reserve will be formed as part of the Southern Military District.
If necessary, they will have to move quickly to cover important military and socially significant objects from drone strikes and cruise missiles.
It is already known that the armament of military units and divisions will receive the ZRPC "Pantsir". These complexes can make marches for hundreds of kilometers and immediately begin to perform a combat mission.
As the interlocutors of Izvestia in the defense department clarified, a fundamental decision on the formation of new units and divisions within the Southern Military District has already been made. Now the reserve air defense units are actively working out tactics of actions in case of a military threat.
Only last year, several major maneuvers with live firing were carried out. The commander of the 1st Army of Anti-aircraft and Anti-missile Defense (special purpose), Lieutenant General Andrey Demin, reported that at one of these exercises, the mobile reserve regiment, armed with the Pantsir-S missile defense system, practiced actions to protect objects at the Ashuluk test site - all targets were destroyed with missiles and anti-aircraft machine guns.
Special attention was paid to the maneuvering actions of anti-aircraft gunners. They learned to hit not only air, but also ground targets. During the fighting, air defense units and units (especially when marching) may be attacked by groups of saboteurs, and anti-aircraft gunners should be prepared for such a development of events - to destroy the enemy with their complexes.
