During the exercises in the Kurgan region, the crews of the Central Military District worked out a covert approach to a given area and bombing at fortifications and facilities of a simulated enemy field camp.
Shells were dropped from Mi-8AMTSh Terminator transport and combat helicopters from a height of about two hundred meters. In total - about twenty bombs, including from extremely low altitudes. The training took place both at night and during the day, under different visibility conditions.
"When striking, the crews calculated the drop point of the bombs in advance, taking into account the speed and altitude of the flight to accurately hit targets," the press service of the Central Military District clarified.
The pilots also practiced evading the enemy's air defense (for which they used false thermal targets), aerial reconnaissance and determining the coordinates of ground targets.
A dozen helicopters and about thirty ground vehicles participated in the exercises.
