Two MT-12 cannons and two ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns were installed near the Avangard administrative building
YAKUTSK, February 3. /tass/. The first batch of equipment - two MT-12 cannons and two ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns - arrived in Yakutsk to equip the Avangard training and methodological center for military-patriotic education of youth. This was announced to TASS on Thursday by the director of the Yakut cadet boarding school, on the basis of which the center is being created, Alexey Koryakin.
"At night, equipment arrived from Chita - two MT-12 guns and two ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns. They are installed near the administrative building. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will gratuitously transfer to the ownership of the republic a total of 28 units of demilitarized military equipment," Koryakin said.
It is noted that 16 units of rocket and artillery weapons (cannons, howitzers, mortars, anti-aircraft guns) and 12 units of armored weapons (tanks of various modifications, infantry fighting vehicles, armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicles, armored personnel carriers) will be delivered. The equipment will be delivered from the units of the Eastern Military District. Samples of demilitarized military equipment will be exhibited as monuments.
The centers of military-patriotic education "Avangard" are being created in all regions of the country on the basis of the instructions of the President of Russia. Such centers are designed to become a resource for creating new forms of effective public-state partnership aimed at supporting the formation of patriotism among young citizens.
