TSAMTO, February 1. Nizhny Novgorod Aircraft Manufacturing Plant "Sokol" - a branch of JSC "RSC "MiG" (part of PJSC "UAC" of Rostec State Corporation) celebrates the 90th anniversary of its formation on February 1.
Today, the company specializes in the repair and modernization of MiG-31, MiG-29 and MiG-29UB aircraft, as well as the production of basic components for the MiG-35, MiG-29K/CUBE, MiG-29M/M2. The plant also participates in cooperation under other UAC programs.
"In 2021, the revenue of NAZ Sokol increased 1.4 times, the plant is fully loaded. The salary of employees increased by 18%. On average, its size is 10 percent higher than the average salary in Nizhny Novgorod. In 2022, NAZ Sokol has an extensive production program. There are contracts signed for the nearest period on the state defense order for the repair and modernization of aircraft, work is underway to conclude new ones for the future. We will continue to work in the line of military-technical cooperation," said Vladimir Semenov, Director of the NAZ Sokol.
Within the framework of the Federal Target Program for the reconstruction and modernization of enterprises of the military-industrial complex at the plant in recent years, work has been completed on the territory of mechanical and aggregate production, the entrance control shop, the flight test complex, the production of technological equipment is under reconstruction. The company is actively improving the production system, the purpose of which is to reduce costs and production costs due to the optimal organization of the process of its creation.
NAZ "Sokol" (formerly Gorky Aviation Plant named after S.Ordzhonikidze) was founded on February 1, 1932. During its existence, the company has produced more than 43.5 thousand aircraft. Its history began with the production of aviation equipment developed in the experimental design bureaus of N.N.Polikarpov and S.A.Lavochkin. Only during the years of the Great Patriotic War, the plant produced 19.2 thousand aircraft, making an invaluable contribution to the victory of the Soviet people over nazi Germany. Since 1949, NAZ Sokol has been cooperating with the Experimental design bureau of A.I.Mikoyan in the production of MiG family fighters. The company was awarded government awards four times: in 1936 and 1970 - the Order of Lenin, in 1941 - the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and in 1982 - the Order of the October Revolution.
