MOSCOW, January 27 - RIA Novosti. Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu on Thursday checked the production of Russia's first specialized factory of large-sized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the military department told reporters.
"The Minister of Defense inspected the specialized plant of the Kronstadt company in the city of Dubna near Moscow for the production of large-sized drones and checked its serial production," the ministry said.
The head of the military department was shown the capacity of the plant and the stages of the production process of unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type.
In the polymer-composite materials workshop, Sergey Bogatikov, General Director of Kronstadt JSC, reported to the Minister of Defense on the process of creating parts from composites. Up to 90% of the UAVs manufactured by the company use parts made of polymer-composite materials.
In the final assembly shop of the UAV, the head of the department was presented with Orion reconnaissance and strike drones delivered to the troops in varying degrees of readiness.
Denis Manturov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Andrey Vorobyov, the Governor of the Moscow Region, also got acquainted with the new production.
